Five Minute Friday (Pause)

The word for this weeks Five Minute Friday is pause. Pause doesn't seem like a significant word just rolling off the tongue. So lets dissect this word for a moment. It is just another word for a brief stop. It isn't an ending or a beginning. It is just the lull in between the hustle and bustle. It may seem like something unimportant but for me, it has such a deeper meaning. I define a pause as time. It is the precious time at the end of the day while I hold my children and admire their sweet little faces. It is the mornings I spend in quiet time with my savior. It is the time I spend reflecting at the end of the day on all the things that have happened. To me a pause is a time to seek and find peace. Being able to pause throughout my days even if only for a few seconds, is such a blessing. I know it is really easy to get lost in the business of life. It is just the type of society we live in. Everyone seems to be more engaged with doing and going rather than appreciating and reflecting. I'm sure we have all caught ourselves feeling completely overwhelmed not realizing that only if we would take a moment to breathe, we would be okay. I would like to encourage you to start trying to recognize the potential  times for pauses you can make everyday and fill those times with things that can bring you a sense of peace. Thanks for joining me for Five Minute Friday. As always, please feel free to start a conversation in the comments and link to your own blog post centered on this series. I look forward to hearing from you.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you so much for the times you have given me to pause in my life. I ask that you would help me to not take the peaceful moments I experience for granted. -Amen

Five Minute Friday Introduction

Hey yall! Welcome to a new weekly series called Five Minute Friday. This is where I will be participating in a blog link-up to help Christian writers grow and promote each other. Each week a word is given to be the theme of the participants post. Basically all you do is set your timer for five minutes and write about that certain topic until the time is up. The challenge is to forget about perfection and just write. It is a really good method to use so that you don't get so caught up in worrying and stressing about your ability to write. You can read more about the concept of Five Minute Friday and join in here http://fiveminutefriday.com/linkup/ . Please feel free to leave your own link to your posts in the comment section here if you are participating as well. I would love to read your posts and get some conversations going each week. I am looking forward to sharing in this experience with everyone and getting to know everyone along the way.

I'm Back!

Hey yall! It has been a while to say the least. I took quite a break from blogging but now I am officially back. Let me update yall on what has been going on during my time away. My family moved back to my hometown after some unfortunate circumstances to get back on our feet and kind of start over. We were blessed to not have to worry about finding a place to say and work for my husband wasn't hard to find either. My husband and I enrolled in college and began pursuing our degrees. We piled lots of things on our combined plates for the last two years. My husband worked full time and went to school full time. I went to school part time and was a full time stay at home mom of two. Our families schedule was very hectic and demanding but with the help of God's grace we made it through. My husband has just graduated with his degree in computer networking and I am still working towards my degree in psychology. My daughter and son are growing up quickly and have adjusted well throughout the past few years. We have finally found a still quietness after the storm so to speak and are all looking forward to what God has in store for our family this year. So with this new found time I am able to pour into the blog here and hopefully begin to grow and fellowship with all of you. I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning from each other throughout this year. As always feel free to leave a comment, question, or suggestion.
